The Freemotion harness WD is a working dog pulling harness designed for activities such as running, biking, skiing or pulling objects like chains or a tire. The original Freemotion harness was developed for activities with a high pulling center only. However, the two side rings on this version allow you to attach the Pulling attachment WD (sold separately). This feature enables resistance training with a low-pulling center for added versatility.
When leaning into the harness, the pull force is distributed evenly over your dog’s body. The harness is designed with inspiration from working horse tack where the pull force is coming from the side of the neck, in addition to top and bottom. This unique design combined with a Y-shaped neck opening allows your dog to move unrestricted with minimal breathing constraints.
Crafted with heavy-duty materials, the products in our Working dog series offer unrivaled strength and durability.
You can personalize the Freemotion harness WD with patches attached to the hook and loop fasteners.
The Freemotion harness WD comes in the color olive and is available in sizes 4-8. The harness is adjustable for optimized fit.

Measure your dog’s neck circumference to find the right size of the Freemotion harness WD. The length and depth of this pulling harness are adjustable.
Measure where the harness will lie. Make sure to measure tight around the neck and pull away your dog’s fur to get an accurate measurement. You can see how to measure your dog for a harness in this video.
The size finder on the product page will help you find the correct size for your dog. Based on the measurements, simply fill in your dog’s numbers and a size will be suggested for you. With this tool, you will also see if your dog is close to going one size up or down.
The harness’s dimensions are available on the product page if needed.
If the harness does not fit, you can exchange the harness for the right size. Visit this page to read more about returns and exchange.
When going through this checklist, your dog should stand up, and the harness should be held in a pulling position.
Or watch this video.
1 - Neck
You should be able to fit two fingers vertically between the top of your dog’s neck and the harness for a medium-sized dog (sizes 4-7). A bit less for smaller dogs, more for bigger dogs. A pulling harness should be quite snug around the neck!
Important!
Fingers on top of each other, between your dog’s neck and harness.
2 - Depth
With the side straps, you adjust the depth to fit your dog’s chest. For medium-sized dogs, you should be able to fit two fingers vertically between your dog’s chest and the harness.
3 – Chest bone
The lowest point of the neck opening should be at your dog’s chest bone. The position can be adjusted with the side straps.
4 - Armpits
Make sure there is room for your dog to move freely.
5 - Ribs
The side straps should lie on your dog’s rib cage, not further back than the last rib bone.
6 – Attachment point
Adjust so that the rope you attach the line to starts right above the base of your dog’s tail. Lock the backstrap by simply threading the end of the strap back through the metal slip lock.
Important!
Ensure the knots on the leash attachment rope are tight before use.
Tips!
If you find it hard to take the harness on/off, twist it sideways when pulling it over your dog’s head. You can also loosen the side straps and open the hook and loop fastener at the back if needed.
If you have any questions about the fit, feel free to reach out to our experts at customer support, and send us pictures of your dog wearing the harness. The best angle is from the side while your dog is pulling.
