Mathilde Lutnæs

Mathilde was born into a dogsledding family. Her mom was racing in Nordic style, and when Mathilde was only three years old, she was skiing with dogs, standing in-between her moms’ legs. She started racing when she was 11. When she was 18, she moved out to go study, and bought her first own dog, Itec. Together Mathilde and Itec have achieved many good results. Mathilde has been studying to become teacher and will be finished with her master-degree the spring 2020. She believes in having fun with the dogs. When she is not competing, she loves to hike with her dogs. 

“I love to be active, and I love dogs, therefor dog sports are perfect. I love how I can combine dogs, training and nature”. 

Usually in dogsledding you do one or two disciplines, but Mathilde can’t stick with that. Mathilde competes in biking, scooter, canicross, pulka and skijoring. She has also tried 4-dog sprint. 

“I believe if you train varied it will make you stronger. Running will make me ski faster, and skiing will make me run faster”.
