Developed with some of the world’s best long-distance mushers and their sled dogs, the Contact bootie is designed to protect paws in all types of snow, also offers protection on cold ground, icy trails,

Made from lightweight, tightly woven nylon, they come as close as possible to the natural ground-feeling so important to a dog's balance and terrain awareness. Their construction allows full freedom of movement for both paw and wrist, making it ideal for dog sports.

Once tightened, the strong elastic hook-and-loop fastener keeps each sock securely in place. Available from 3XS to 2XL, they offer a good fit to every paw, including extra small dogs.

Like all footwear, they wear down over time, but these dog booties are most durable on snow. Learn more about dog bootie durability in the FAQ.

The Contact bootie comes in a pack of four.

FAQ

How should a dog bootie fit?

A dog bootie should allow natural paw movement and expansion when weight is applied. Aim for about a finger of extra space on each side of the paw once the bootie is on, or when placing your dog’s paw on it, when the bootie is lying flat. If the bootie opening aligns with the dew claw, fasten the strap just below it to avoid pressure on the joint.

How tight should I adjust the bootie?

Tighten the fastener so it stays secure during activity, but not so tight that it restricts circulation. As a general rule, fit one finger under the fastener while closing it tightly. Always remove the booties after the activity or during longer breaks.

How long do dog booties last?

The durability of dog booties depends on various factors, including the length of your dog’s nails, their running technique, the type of surface they run on, and the materials used in the booties. Given the nature of their use, dog booties will inevitably experience wear. In general, it is not realistic to expect a set of dog booties to last for an extended period.

Our dog booties are rated based on protection and ground feeling. Booties with a protection level of 5 are the most durable, while those with protection levels 1 or 2 are designed for softer surfaces, such as snow.

The Contact bootie will last longer when used on snow.

How many booties are included when I buy a set?

The Contact bootie is sold in packs of four.

What’s the difference between the Contact bootie and Contact bootie high?

Both booties have the same function, sizing, and ground feeling. The Contact bootie high offers added protection higher on the leg with a second fastening. This is especially useful for dogs with long fur that collects snow, in conditions where an icy layer forms on top of the snow, or when the dew claw sits level with the opening of the shorter version.
