"I come from a family of mushers, with my dad being an Iditarod Champion and my Grandfather racing in the inaugural Iditarod Race. From a young age, I helped my dad, Mitch Seavey, train and raise sled dogs. While growing up, I also wrestled at a state and national level, including one year at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. In 2005, I became the youngest musher in history to complete the Iditarod Tail Sled Dog Race. In 2011, I not only had my best ever Iditarod finish at the time, but was also the Yukon Quest Champion. In 2012, I became the youngest ever winner of the Iditarod at the age of 25".
