A versatile pulling-harness for running, biking, and other activities with a pulling center above the dog. Ergonomic fit provides freedom of motion and minimal breath constraint.
Our original harness design is developed, tested, and used by world-leading mushers within bikejoring, skijoring and canicross, but applies to any active family dog. Freemotion comes in a variety of sizes and has good adjustability to fit most breeds.
A suitable harness is crucial for the dog's performance, to avoid injuries, and to make sure the dog enjoys the activity as much as you do. A Freemotion harness is designed to unleash the dog's potential. It allows the dog's shoulders to move freely. The airways stay unrestricted while the pull force distributes around the upper body. The harness is made for activities with a pulling center higher than the dog's back. It has an adjustable pulling point to utilize power in each stride.
The dog's wellbeing is essential for us when we are carefully designing every harness at Non-stop dogwear. Ergonomic design requires attention to detail. We always construct the inner lining so that all materials overlap without any hard edges. Harnesses are made from durable, tightly woven nylon and have a cell foam base to prevent water soaking in. Every seam has its smooth side towards the dog's body, all to make sure the harness does not chafe the dog. All our harnesses have integrated 3M reflective materials for the dog's security. This anatomical design approach with freedom of movement and comfortable breathing is our trademark.

FAQ
Which knot is on the blue rope at the end of the Freemotion harness?
We have tied a Fisherman knot on the Freemotion harnesses tail rope.
How to choose the right size and adjust the Freemotion harness?
The size finder on the product's page will help you find the correct size for your dog. Based on the measurements, simply fill in your dog’s numbers and a size will be suggested for you. With this tool, you will also see if your dog is close to going one size up or down. If your dog is in between sizes, we recommend you choose the bigger size for small/medium dogs (up to size 6) in particular. The colored tab on the harness indicates which size the harness is.
The Freemotion harness is adjustable to fit as many dogs as possible. Adjusting the harness correctly is important to utilize the properties to the maximum. When going through this checklist, your dog should stand up, and the harness should be held in a pulling position.Orwatch this video.1 - NeckYou should be able to fit two fingers vertically between the top of your dog’s neck and the harness for a medium-sized dog (sizes 4-7). A bit less for smaller dogs, more for bigger dogs. A pulling harness should be quite snug around the neck!Important!Fingers on top of each other, between your dog’s neck and harness.2 - DepthWith the side straps, you adjust the depth to fit your dog’s chest. For medium-sized dogs, you should be able to fit two fingers vertically between your dog’s chest and the harness.3 – Chest boneThe lowest point of the neck opening should be at your dog’s chest bone. The position can be adjusted with the side straps.4 - ArmpitsMake sure there is room for your dog to move freely.5 - RibsThe side straps should lie on your dog’s rib cage, not further back than the last rib bone.6 – Attachment pointAdjust so that the rope you attach the line to starts right above the base of your dog’s tail. Lock the backstrap by simply threading the end of the strap back through the metal slip lock.Important!Ensure the knots on the leash attachment rope are tight before use.Tips! If you find it hard to take the harness on/off, twist it sideways when pulling it over your dog’s head. You can also loosen the side straps and open the hook and loop fastener at the back if needed. If you have any questions about the fit, feel free to reach out to our experts at customer support, and send us pictures of your dog wearing the harness. The best angle is from the side while your dog is pulling.
What is the difference between the elastic and the static sidestraps?
Elastic sidestraps give your dog a few more centimeters for each stride. Because of this, athletes doing canicross and skijoring prefer elastic sidestraps. The elastic straps are made for racing, but are less durable than the static straps.
How to change the sidestraps?
Open the metal-buckle, pull the worn strap through the webbing, and plastic-buckle. Take the new strap, first guide the strap through the plastic-buckle, through the webbing and back into the metal-buckle. The side strap should be tight.
The sidestraps get worn, and you might need to replace them. There are replacement sidestraps in the web-shop, both elastic and static (from size 4 and up).
What is the difference between the Combined harness and the Freemotion harness?
Both harnesses are designed for activities with a high pulling point, such as canicross/running, biking, and skiing.
The Combined harness and the Freemotion harness have the same fundamental design. The Combined harness has built-in reinforced battens around the neck to give extra support. The Combined harness also has attachments for a pulka.
Should I choose the same sized Combined harness as a Freemotion harness?
