Freemotion harness WD

The ideal harness for training your working dog’s strength and endurance through resistance training.
Expected delivery in 2 to 5 working days

Size:

The Freemotion harness WD is a working dog pulling harness designed for activities such as running, biking, skiing or pulling objects like chains or a tire. The original Freemotion harness was developed for activities with a high pulling center only. However, the two side rings on this version allow you to attach the Pulling attachment WD (sold separately). This feature enables resistance training with a low-pulling center for added versatility.

When leaning into the harness, the pull force is distributed evenly over your dog’s body. The harness is designed with inspiration from working horse tack where the pull force is coming from the side of the neck, in addition to top and bottom. This unique design combined with a Y-shaped neck opening allows your dog to move unrestricted with minimal breathing constraints.

Crafted with heavy-duty materials, the products in our Working dog series offer unrivaled strength and durability.

You can personalize the Freemotion harness WD with patches attached to the hook and loop fasteners.

The Freemotion harness WD comes in the color olive and is available in sizes 4-8. The harness is adjustable for optimized fit.

How to fit the Freemotion harness WD to my dog?

The Freemotion harness WD is adjustable to fit as many dogs as possible. Adjusting the harness correctly is important to utilize the properties to the maximum.

When adjusting the harness, your dog must be standing in the same position as when pulling; the back should be straight with the head and neck low as an extension of the back.

A pulling-harness should be snug around the neck to prevent it from sliding down towards your dog’s shoulders, as that will limit movement. If you think it is hard to get the harness on or off, you can twist it horizontally before pulling it over your dog's head. This can also be done when taking the harness off. Loosening the side straps will also help.

You should be able to fit two fingers vertically between the harness and the top of your dog's neck.

The lowest point of the neck opening should be at your dog’s chest bone.

With the side straps, you adjust the depth to fit your dog’s chest. This will prevent the harness from sliding up and restricting respiration. If your dog is rasping, the side straps might need to be adjusted. The side straps should lie on your dog’s ribs, not further back than the last rib bone. You should be able to fit two fingers vertically between your dog’s chest and the harness.

Adjust the back piece so that the attachment point for the line sits right above the base of your dog’s tail. After initial adjustment for your dog, lock the straps of the back strap by simply threading the end of the strap back through the slip-lock.
