Matheus has always been involved with dogs and sports because of his family. He grew up with a family showing him how to handle the dogs. In 2017 Matheus noticed a \"dog run\" where they were running with their dogs on asphalt on short distances. He thought it could be interesting to try, and after the race he was invited to his first real canicross event. 

Canicross means everything to me! This sport appearded in a tough part of my life, and this combination of adrenaline and love made me start to dream again.

His goal for the future is to be on the podium in a world championships together with his idols that he has always admired. He also wants to keep his South American title.
