One second is all it takes for a hike to turn into a rescue mission.

When every moment counts, the Dog rescue sling is designed to help you carry your dog to safety if they become injured or unable to walk. Many dog owners face this challenge on any type of trail, more often than you might think! That’s why the Dog rescue sling was developed in close collaboration with the Norwegian Search and Rescue Dog Association (NRH), resulting in a product that meets the highest standards for reliability and stability, even in extreme conditions.

This is the only product we make that we hope you’ll never have to use.

With four leg openings, the sling distributes your dog’s weight evenly, while sturdy straps enable a secure grip whether you’re carrying them in front, on your side, or your back. Easily adjust the fit by tying a quick knot to adapt to the situation. Its universal design saves valuable time, with no “front” or “back” side to navigate.

Compact and lightweight, the sling is simple to pack for any hike, ready to secure and carry your dog, even if you are alone.

The Dog rescue sling is available in high-visibility orange and sizes S to XL.

FAQ

How to use the Dog rescue sling on my dog?

Begin by inserting each of your dog’s legs into the designated openings. Next, secure the top buckles and adjust the fit to match your dog’s size. Place the carrying straps over your shoulders or attach them to your backpack’s shoulder straps, then tie a knot at the desired length for comfortable carrying.

We recommend practicing this at home several times so your dog becomes familiar with being lifted, and you gain confidence and speed should you need to use it in case of an emergency.

What is the best way to carry my dog?

The ideal way to carry your dog will depend on their size, weight, and the location of any injury, as you will want to minimize strain on the affected area. If you are carrying your dog alone, a front carry is recommended, allowing you to monitor their condition as you walk. For greater comfort, a back carry may be preferable; if you are with others, they can monitor your dog from behind. Side carrying is also possible for added versatility. Attaching the straps to your backpack helps reduce the strain on your shoulders.

Are the carrying straps adjustable?

The Dog rescue sling’s carrying straps do not have adjustment points. To customize the fit for each situation, simply tie a knot on each strap at your desired length.

How do I choose the right size?

Select the Dog rescue sling size based on your dog’s weight. Use the fit finder tool on the product page to determine the best size for your dog.

If your dog is in between sizes, use the additional maximum length between legs recommendation to find the correct size.
To measure your dog, start from the middle of the thigh muscle and measure up to the middle of the triceps, a bit above the elbow.
