Jackson was introduced to the sport through a friend. He gave it a go, and after the first few trainings Jackson loved the relationship between him and the dog. He is still hooked on the sport. 

His goal for the future is to defend his national title in 2020. He also wants to run competitively in CaniX and add a new member to his team. 

When Jackson is not mushing with the dogs, he competes in state lure coursing trials, where Stella was the 2018 state champ. Jackson also spends time downhill mountain biking to stay in shape.
